This program is for experienced entrepreneurs who want to start, run, and manage a business while living in New Brunswick permanently.
The entrepreneur needs to either start a new business or buy an existing one and be involved in its daily operations. After running the business for six months and meeting the required conditions, they may be nominated by New Brunswick for permanent residency.
Applicants in this stream must meet the minimum requirements before submitting an Expression of Interest (EOI).
Minimum Requirements:
- Age: 19–59
- Language: Minimum CLB 4
- Education: Have at least high school diploma
- Net worth: At least $500,000 CAD
- Experience and Ownership:
- Business ownership – minimum 51%, involved in the day-to-day operations as the primary decision maker, supervising 2 employees in 2 years of last 5 years; or
- Senior manager – involved in the day-to-day operations as a primary decision maker, supervising 2 employees in 2 years of last 5 years.
- Business Plan: Mandatory
- Investment: Minimum of $150,000 CAD
- Job Creation: One full-time job for permanent residents or Canadian citizens
- EOI: Minimum of 65 points
Requirements for Farming Entrepreneurs:
Farm Operation Time: Minimum 9 out of 12 months in a calendar year;
Residency: Must reside at the farm operations or be within 10 km from the farm
Net Worth: At least $300,000 CAD
Investment: Minimum $150,000 CAD
Ownership and/or Experience: Minimum 2 years of farm ownership or minimum 2 years of farm management experience.
